Who needs the TDAC

From 1 May 2025 all non-Thai nationals entering Thailand must complete the TDAC online before they arrive 1. This applies to arrivals by land, sea and air 2.

It applies to people who need a visa and to people who can enter visa-free. Travellers who need a visa must still get one, then complete the TDAC as well as the visa 1. Thai embassies describe it as an electronic disembarkation card for all foreigners 2.

Who does not need it

The requirement covers non-Thai nationals, so Thai citizens do not fill it in 1,2. The embassy notices we checked do not list other exemptions. If you are unsure, check with your airline or the nearest Thai embassy before you travel 1.

Cost and when to submit

The TDAC is free of charge 1,2. You can submit it within the 3 days before your travel date 1. The Royal Thai Embassy in Bucharest says to submit it 3 days in advance, counting the date of arrival 3.

If you forget, there are kiosks at the airport, but the embassy warns of extra delay and possible queues 3.

How to submit

Go to https://tdac.immigration.go.th and fill in the form in English 3. You give passport, personal, travel, accommodation and health declaration details 3.

  • You can register one person or a group of up to 10 people in one submission 3.
  • You get a confirmation by email with a personal QR code that you can use to make changes later 3.
  • Full name, passport number, nationality and date of birth cannot be edited. If one is wrong, you must submit a new card 3.
  • Show the acknowledgement email with your travel documents at the immigration counter 1.

How long it is valid

The embassy notices do not give a validity period. The TDAC replaces the paper TM.6 arrival card and asks for the details of one trip, including your arrival date 3. Plan to submit a fresh card before each new arrival in Thailand 3.

Beware of sites that charge

Thai embassies state that the TDAC is free and point travellers only to https://tdac.immigration.go.th 1,2. Any other website that asks you to pay is adding its own charge. Check the web address before you enter passport details 2.
