Who must register

The eTravel system requires these groups to register or update their details 1:

  • Arriving Filipino and foreign crew members
  • Arriving Filipino and foreign passengers
  • Departing Filipino passengers

Who is exempt

Foreign diplomats and their dependants, foreign dignitaries and members of their delegations, 9(e) visa holders, and holders of diplomatic and official or service passports do not need to register 1.

When to register

You may register within 72 hours (3 days) before your arrival into or departure from the Philippines 1. Travellers are asked to present proof of registration before boarding 1. The UK Foreign Office warns that some airlines will not let you board without the QR code 3.

What you get

After registering, take a screenshot, download or print your QR code 1. The Bureau of Quarantine reviews the data. A green code means you can go straight to immigration. A red code means further checks by the Bureau of Quarantine first 1.

A red code is issued when data is incomplete or wrong, or if in the past 30 days you were sick or exposed to someone with an infectious disease 1.

Validity and repeat trips

If you have registered before, update your details for each new trip using the Edit Registration tab 1. You can change some data until border authorities have processed you 1. If you registered more than once, present only one QR code 1.

Lost your QR code? Go to https://etravel.gov.ph/search, enter your reference number and date of birth, and the system shows your code and data again 1.

Health declaration

eTravel includes the Electronic Health Declaration Card (eHDC), part of the Bureau of Quarantine's health surveillance against infectious diseases 1. The answers help border health staff guide you if needed 1.

Cost and scam warning

eTravel registration is absolutely free of charge and does not collect any online payment, the system says 1. It warns travellers to beware of fake, fraudulent or scam websites that ask for payment 1.

Report such sites to the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center at https://cicc.gov.ph/report/ 1. Cruise passengers have a separate registration route on the eTravel home page 2.
