Bahrain visitor eVisa rules

Last checked: 19 October 2026 · Middle East entry rules

Bahrain's eVisa options depend on nationality, residence and visit purpose. Use the official Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs eligibility check before applying 1. One published option is a 2-week single-entry eVisa with a BHD 5 non-refundable application fee and BHD 5 issuance fee 2. It requires a passport valid for more than six months, accommodation proof, a return ticket and a qualifying bank statement 2. Other visa types have different fees and conditions 1,3.

Check eligibility first

Bahrain does not apply one visitor rule to every nationality. The official eVisa system checks nationality and other details before showing available visas 1.

A result may depend on GCC residence, purpose, sponsor or supporting documents. Use the official result rather than choosing a visa from a search result or commercial page 1,3.

Two-week single-entry eVisa

NPRA publishes a 2-week single-entry electronic visa. The applicant must be outside Bahrain when applying. The visa becomes invalid if it is not used within 3 months of issue 2.

The fee is BHD 5 to apply and BHD 5 for issuance. The application fee is non-refundable. A 14-day extension costs BHD 25 under the published service page 2.

Documents for the two-week visa

  • Passport copy with more than 6 months of validity 2.
  • Hotel booking or proof of a residential address in Bahrain 2.
  • Proof of a return air ticket 2.
  • Bank statement for the previous 3 months showing regular income of at least US$1,000 2.
  • The reason for the visit and all requested attachments 2.

Other visit visas

NPRA lists general visit visas for people visiting family or relatives in Bahrain. That route requires a guarantor or authorised person and has its own documents and fees 3.

Processing times and fees differ by category. The published 1-working-day time applies to the 2-week single-entry eVisa page, not to every Bahrain visa 2,3.

Apply on the official site

Follow the electronic-visa link from NPRA or go to evisa.gov.bh. Pay only the amount displayed for the visa type returned by the government eligibility check 1,2.

An application receipt is not an entry visa. Travel after the visa is issued and within its use period, carrying the passport and supporting booking details used in the application 2.
